ARSENAL have reportedly paid ex-Sunderland striker Nicklas Bendtner £3million to leave the club, with Crystal Palace looking to secure his signature.
The Eagles’ boss Ian Holloway is looking to revive the Denmark International’s career after being frozen out at the Emirates and with the Gunners rumoured to make a bid for Chelsea’s Demba Ba.
Palace were unwilling to match the striker’s £52k-a-week wages he was on before but thanks to the Gunners’ pay off, they’re looking to pay him roughly half of that.
Bendtner spent last season on loan to Juventus but only made nine appearances without scoring as the Italian Giants won back-to-back Serie A titles.
He was a deadline day loan signing for the Black Cats two seasons ago and scored eight goals in 28 games, including a Tyne and Wear derby goal at Newcastle.
The news comes after Arsenal were poised to sign Real Madrid’s Mesut Ozil for a reported club record fee of £42.4million and have already re-signed midfielder Mathieu Flamini on a free transfer.
