NEWCASTLE United could miss out on a long-term target, while it’s all quiet on the Sunderland front.

Newcastle United could miss out on Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen after Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy travelled to Holland on Monday in an attempt to close a deal for the Ajax player, who is also wanted by Arsenal and AC Milan. Full story: Daily Mail
