Sunderland Sunday League: Semi-final heartbreaker for Farringdon ISL
It was a classic game of two halves as Farringdon dominated early possession and Ash Davis found the net with sneaky free-kick for the opener.
But Stockton’s strong side got the leveller a few minutes later.

Hide AdStar man David “Busta” Paul who had Farra back in front with a great free-kick. The Sunderland side had chances to put the game out of sight, but Hardwick equalised in the last quarter and further missed chances proved costly as the Teessiders bagged a winner in the final five minutes, breaking the hearts of the Farra faithful.
In the final, Hardwick – whose marksmen against Farringdon were Jamie Owens, Craig Bishop and Tony Johnson – will meet Durham Sunday League side Pelton RAOB, who outgunned Witton Park 6-2 in their semi.
Star man Craig Watson scored a wonder goal for SR Dons and that was enough to take care of the plucky Southwick side in a hard-fought League Cup semi-final.
Southwick had their chances to take the tie to extra time at least, but they just could not make the breakthrough against a hard-working defence.
Barney Dobinson was outstanding for Southwick in the heart of defence, but it Watson’s goal booked Dons’ first cup final spot.
