Sunderland Sunday League: Farringdon Detached clinch First Division title, with Archbold firing crucial double

Farringdon Detached at least had the bonus of earlier clinching the First Division title with a dominant 4-1 win over Willow Pond.

Detached earlier cruised to a magnificent 7-1 win at Ryhope Top House.

Jordan Wolfendale came off the bench to grab an impressive hat-trick, while Liam Ramshaw, David Stevens, Craig Stewart and Paul Grainger also scored, while Michael Wrightson was man of the match. Mark Slee hit Top House’s reply.

Connor Gales had a day to remember in Division One as he fired four goals to lead Willow Pond to a fine 6-2 success at Ryhope Top House, who have been relegated in second-bottom spot.

Stuart Lawrence and Neil McNulty increased the scoreline before Mark Slee and Ryan Wood replied for 10-man Top House.

Bottom club Pennywell Comrades beat Harbour View 3-1.

Jolly Potters secured runners-up spot in Division Two with an easy 5-2 victory over The Dolphin.

Paul Webster hit four goals to ensure that he finishes as the division’s top scorer, while Gary Baker converted a fine move to make it five. Anthony Rivers starred.

Dolphin had a good spell in the last 15 minutes and found the net twice through Stephen and Jonny Martin. Jordan Sweeney was their top performer.

Dolphin’s defeat means that they go down in second-bottom spot.

Luke Bell was back among the goals in TC Plastics’ 6-0 win at AFC Wearside. He bagged a clinical hat-trick and Mark Catcheside, Colin Robson and Leighton Stephenson finished the scoring.

The Stumble Inn totally dominated New Town in a 9-0 drubbing. Rhys Robson hit four goals, while Corey Steel grabbed a double. Ross Antliff, Conner Barnes and John Thubron hit the rest, with Alex Robinson the pick for New Town.

Man of the matchh Gary Allen’s brace set Washington New Tavern on their way to a tight 3-2 victory over Hendon. Gilby and Imeson levelled it up, but Shaun Davies bagged Tavern’s winner.

In midweek, bottom club TC embarrassed Hendon in their own back yard with a comfortable 4-2 win.

Stumble Inn, who have had a great second half of the season, could be title favourites next season.

They hammered Victory Club 7-3, thanks to Thubron (3) Robson (2), Steel and Dodsworth. Dryden, Stores and Calvert responded.

TC Plastics finished their remarkable season with a 5-1 win over New Town. Stokoe, Robson, Thompson and a brace from Jordan Ewen sank New Town, with Brad Foster replying.

Victoria Gardens romped to a 9-4 win over Woodlands in the penultimate match of their Fourth Division title-winning campaign.

Carl Longstaff (2), Cameron Arthurs and Anthony Walmsley netted for Woodlands, with Michael Wilson star man, but they could not prevent Gardens making it 19 wins out of 19.

The champions will have in say in the second promotion place tomorrow. Hendon Athletic have completed their programme and lead East Rainton on goal difference. Rainton need a point against Victoria Gardens to go up with them.
