Sunderland Sunday League: Busta steers extra-special Farringdon into County Cup quarter-finals

Wing wizard Andy Middleton struck with a trademark goal and Michael McCabe came off the bench to fire past Bussey to make sure of all three points.

Southwick’s season has came to an abrupt halt due to a behind-the scenes saga.

They could only call on eight players to face The Ashbrooke, and the visitors duly took advantage to romp home 5-1. Man of the match Dean Smith bagged a hat trick and further goals from Storey and Birnie put Southwick to the sword.

Southwick have now called local hero Kevin Wilson to take the reins at the club.

TC Plastics just managed to maintain their 100 per cent league record in Division Two, pipping Free Gardeners Arms by the odd goal in a 5-4 win.

Plastics had their usual suspects finding the net, through Farquhar, Bell, Stokoe and Stephenson. But the Gardeners fought back thanks to Lister, Winter and two-goal super sub Morris.

TC Plastics are top for a good reason, though, and managed to find the winner, McArthur hitting the decisive goal.

New Town went goal crazy against Victory Club, romping home 7-1 without much trouble.

Matty Thompson, Elliott Salicki and Sean Collard all bagged doubles, but Victory did pull a consolation goal before Charlie Salicki completed the rout.

TC’s 4-4 thriller against The Dolphin was a classic for the neutral, an end to end attacking display from both teams.

Dolphin had Watson, Usher and a double from Etheridge on target, but Mather, Arye, Padget and Tasker came up trumps for TC.

Jolly Potters ran out comfortable 5-1 winners against AFC Wearside.

Webster hit his customary goal and Gary Baker doubled the lead. McCracken scored for Wearside, but Potters were always in control and McQuillan, Bussey and Kieran Nixon made it five.
