Sunderland Sunday League: Bell tolls for Farringdon Detached as TC Plastics march on in Joe Holborn Memorial Cup

The Plasticmen can look forward with confidence to meeting Detached again in the top flight next season.

Paul Stokoe starred for Plastics, with keeper Philip Smurthwaite best for the hosts.

Farringdon ISL produced the result of the season with a close 3-2 win at SR Dons.

Farringdon played the full 90 minutes with only 10 men due to dropouts and still managed the win.

Vojtech Kobylka, James Parkinson and a Paul Kane thunderbolt saw Farra into the next round, with man of the match Kyle Donaldson immense in goal.

Chris Laws hit a double in vain for Dons.

Ryhope Foresters entertained the neutral with an excellent 2-0 win at TS Potters.

Potters were among the favourites to win this cup, but Ryhope had other ideas and star man Anth Young hit a double to seal victory.

Brad Forster shone for Potters.

Premier outfit Hylton Castle TWR proved too strong for First Division Oddies in a 3-1 away win.

Liam Laidler had TWR front early on, before Daz Green replied to level. Hylton took over in the second half, with Cal Hodgson and Daz Snowball sealing victory.

Gareth Greener inspired TWR, with Andrew Smith best for Oddies.

Craig Vincent, Jake Taylor and a double from Dean Machin earned Ryhope Top House an easy 4-0 win at The Royal Marine.

Craig Whelam shone for the visitors, while Peter Marshall stood out for Marine.

RCA Grangetown Florists enjoyed easy pickings as they outgunned The Stumble Inn 4-0.

Goals from Reece Noble and James Witheat, and a brace from Adam Storey, gave RCA the win, with Chris Thompson man of the match. Ayden Cummings shone in Stumble’s goal.

Southwick totally dominated Redhouse Last Orders in a 9-2 win.

Anth Ross hit a treble before league legend John Butler found the net. Gavin Quinn replied for Redhouse, but it was in vain as star man Micky “Chip” Bulmer hit a brace.

Micky Coghlan rolled back the years to add a trademark hat-trick, while Shaun Metcalfe hit another consolation for Redhouse, whose top performer was keeper Gary Todd.

Premier side O’Brien Waste Recycling eased past Willow Pond with a 6-0 win in the Total Sport Challenge Trophy.

Steven Anderson (2), Liam Wooton, Gavin Murton, Gareth Brazier and Mark Dolan, with John Davis star man for Willo.

Robbie Calvert practically won the game single handedly with his four-goal haul as The Victory Club pipped Pennywell Comrades 5-4 in Division Two.

Star man Philip Hodgson’s strike gave Martin Telfer Carpets an early lead over The Promenade, but the visitors equalised late on, when levelled things when Chris Platten’s strike sailed past hapless keeper David Peake. Paul Muir was Prom’s star.

The points were shared in a feisty game as New Town and Railway Club played out a 3-3 draw.

Martin Maggiore, Elliott Salicki and Gav Mulvaney scored for New Town, but Ricardo Cabezas and Dan Callaghan (2) levelled it up.

In the only Premier Division game, Kieron Petre, Aiden Haley and Lewis Lynn scored for Silksworth Paragon in a 3-3 draw at Myers.

Gavin Nesbitt, James Baxter and Scott Mould earned Myers their point. Shaun Herron saw red for Silksworth to hand Myers a lifeline and they took advantage with a late equaliser.

Steven Thompson starred for Myers, with Rhys Antliff best for Paragon.
