SUNDERLAND boss Gus Poyet is likely to restore most of his big names to the starting line-up for Wednesday night’s Barclays Premier League clash with Stoke.

The Uruguayan made 10 changes for Saturday’s 1-0 FA Cup fourth-round victory over non-league Kidderminster, but will field his strongest available line-up as he attempts to finally drag the Black Cats out of the bottom three.

Defender Carlos Cuellar has returned to light training after a long-term hip injury while full-back Andrea Dossena has shaken off an Achilles problem, although neither is likely to be involved. Goalkeeper Keiren Westwood continues his recovery from shoulder surgery.

Provisional squad: Mannone, Ustari, Pickford, Celustka, Alonso, Bardsley, O’Shea, Brown, Vergini, Diakite, Roberge, Cattermole, Gardner, Ki, Giaccherini, Johnson, Larsson, Ba, Karlsson, Mavrias, Colback, Fletcher, Altidore, Borini.
