Sunderland and Newcastle United legends in Brazil soccer tournament

A TEAM of former professional footballers will take to the pitch in a tournament to show they back Show Racism the Red Card – with more squads invited to join in.

Ex-Sunderland player Gary Bennett, former Newcastle United team member Olivier Bernard, Richard Offiong, who has played for Hamilton Academical and Carlisle and former Leicester player Trevor Benjamin will appear in the Futsal match, which is being organised by former Middlesbrough player Dean Gordon.

Twelve sides have already signed up to take part in the event, with places for squads of eight still available.

The event will be held at the Seaburn Centre on Sunday, July 21, from 2pm to 5pm, with each team to pay a fee of £25. More details at www.futsaluk.net.
