Sunderland travel to Stoke City on Saturday in search of their first league win of the season.
The game will be officiated by Mike Jones who has so far taken charge of three games this season.
The Chester official has dished out eight yellow cards and no red cards in those three fixtures giving him an average of 2.7 cards per league match.
This will be the second Sunderland game of the season that he has taken charge of.
Jones was the man in the middle for the 3-0 home defeat to Everton at the Stadium of Light last month.
A quickfire second-half Romelu Lukaku hat-trick ensured the Toffees took all three points back to Merseyside that night.
