Charlie Wyke’s four-goal haul saw the Black Cats pick up an important three points in a 4-1 win, which had penalty drama thrown into the mix too.

And, incredibly, it was Aiden McGeady who laid on all four goals for the big striker, who became the first Sunderland player to score 20 goals in a season since Darren Bent.

Asked if he could remember on occasion where one player had assisted another four times during one match, Bent replied with ‘Kane and Son.’

Speaking on Quest, Bent said: “Charlie Wyke with four great headers, and McGeady puts it into the box so well, never under hits or over hits it. Superb today”

“When you’ve got that kind of link-up when you know they’re gonna find you with quality, it makes a big difference, and Wyke’s certainly benefitting from that.”
