Watch Sunderland's new owner Stewart Donald arrive at Stadium of Light for Wolves game

Have your say

New Sunderland supremo Stewart Donald has arrived at the Stadium of Light as his takeover of the club from Ellis Short looks set to go through.

The owner-in-waiting arrived on Wearside with his family to watch today's game against champions Wolves.

Donald had been been saying on Twitter he may join supporters in the stands but that remains to be seen.

It's likely he will be in either the director's box or an executive box instead.

His takeover from Short is awaiting EFL approval, with no timeframe for when the decision will be made, but Donald - who has had involvement at Oxford United previously, as well as owning non-league side Eastleigh - is confident there will be no issues with the deal.
