Sunderland will take on Bundesliga club Hannover 96 in their final pre-season match.
The Black Cats head to Germany on Saturday, August 1 – a week ahead of the opening Premier League game at Leicester City.
The match at the HDI Arena will kick off at 5pm local time (4pm BST).
Sunderland visited Hannover in pre-season four years ago, when the German club won 3-1, with Stephane Sessegnon on target for the Wearsiders, then under Steve Bruce’s command.
The Hannover game concludes a six-match programme of friendlies, which begins with a trip to face Evo-Stik League club Darlington 1883 at Bishop Auckland on Thursday, July 9.
After that, Dick Advocaat takes his squad across the Atlantic for a three-game tour, featuring games against Sacramento Republic (July 14) and Pachuca (July 17) in Sacramento, and a clash with Toronto on July 22.
Sunderland return to visit Doncaster Rovers on Wednesday, July 29 then have their German adventure before the big kick-off at Leicester’s King Power Stadium.
