VALENTIN ROBERGE is heading to Stade de Reims on loan, according to reports in France.
Sunderland told Reims to make a concrete offer for Roberge after receiving an enquiry from the French side last week for the 27-year-old, who has started just eight Premier League games since arriving at the Stadium of Light last summer.
There have been reports in France that Sunderland have now agreed a season-long loan deal for Roberge to move to Ligue 1.
Sunderland are on the verge of completing a loan deal themselves for Liverpool defender Sebastian Coates.
But the Black Cats are expected to be in the market for another centre-half if Roberge departs, with Gus Poyet keen to have seven defenders available in his first-team squad.
