SUNDERLAND striker Connor Wickham has today been linked with a loan move to Championship side Bolton.
England Under-21 international Wickham has found first team opportunities tough to come by in his two seasons at the Stadium of Light, scoring just twice in all competitions since an £8million move from Ipswich in 2011.
The 20-year-old spent a month on loan at Sheffield Wednesday last season, netting one goal in his six appearances, and Owls boss Dave Jones is thought to be keen on taking Wickham back to Hillsborough.
Sunderland boss Paolo Di Canio has stressed his desire to have a number of attacking options at his disposal this season, athough Wickham is likely to provide back-up to Jozy Altidore and Steven Fletcher should he remain on Wearside.
Bolton, who are currently 16th in the Championship table after drawing their first two games, have already boosted their attacking ranks this summer with the signing of Jermaine Beckford from Leicester.
