Phil Parkinson is continuing to reshape his squad and having been patient in his pursuit of targets, is set to step-up his efforts to land new faces today.
Here, we look at nine deals that could be completed by the Black Cats before the window slams shut at 11pm – with incomings and outgoings in focus:
1. IN: Antoine Semenyo
The forward has been a long-standing target for the Black Cats, with Phil Parkinson believing the Bristol City youngster could bring ‘pace and power’ to his side. WIth Bristol adding to their forward line, Semenyo may be allowed to leave on loan. Photo: Nathan Stirk
2. OUT: Will Grigg
Having reportedly snubbed two moves to League Two earlier this week, Grigg is set to still attract interest as we enter the final hours of the window. Sunderland are reluctant to allow him to join a League One rival, with some third tier sides having shown an interest. Photo: FRANK REID 2019
3. IN: Luca Connell
Phil Parkinson has been tracking the Celtic midfielder this month having worked with him at Bolton Wanderers, The Black Cats and Barnsley are understood to have made loan approaches for the youngster this month. Photo: Nathan Stirk
4. OUT: Benji Kimpioka
Sunderland remain keen to seal a loan move for the Swedish under-21 international, but there have been no concrete bids for Kimpioka as of yet. There could be some late interest, however. Photo: Frank Reid
