Sunderland Women face City awayday

Have your say

SUNDERLAND Women are back in Premier League action tomorrow when they travel to newly-promoted Manchester City.

The Lady Black Cats go into the game having made an excellent start to the season, winning all four of their league games and sitting top of the National Premier League.

City, who last season were crowned champions of the Northern Premier League, have had a mixed start, having won, drawn and lost in their first three fixtures and are sixth in the league.

Sunderland were guests of honour at the Stadium of Light today and were taking to the field at half-time in the men’s game against Wigan.

The players were showing off the trophies from their memorable double last season, when they won the League Cup and retained the National Premier League title.
