Have your say

SUNDERLAND reporter Chris Young gives his verdict after the Black Cats’ miserable 2-0 defeat to QPR.

Pantilimon 6 - Nothing much he could do about either goal.

Reveillere 6 - Produced a decent first half cross that van Aanholt should have made more of, while QPR’s threat all came down the opposite flank. (Brown 6 - Steady after replacing the injured Reveillere)

O’SHEA 7 - One of the few Sunderland players who kept their head and performed anywhere near their capabilities

Vergini 5 - Distribution very sloppy in first half, when Sunderland needed to regain some confidence.

Van Aanholt 4 - Ripped to shreds by QPR doubling up on him, albeit he was given no protection. Poor going forwards too.

Bridcutt 5 - Another who gave the ball away far too easily.

Larsson 5 - One of the few who tried to press QPR’s midfield, but was outmuscled and out-thought by Barton.

Gomez 4 - Barely completed a pass in the opening half-hour, albeit he then created a sitter for Defoe. No surprise he was removed at the interval. (Alvarez 7 - Introduced a touch of urgency and dynamism into Sunderland’s play)

Johnson 6 - Created good chances for both Wickham and Defoe.

Wickham 5 - Should have equalised with a header that saw Green paw the ball off the line and was lacking sharpness after injury. (Fletcher 6 - Worked hard to give Sunderland a lifeline).

Defoe 5 - Had a golden chance by his standards to level, and should have found the net again in the second half.

QPR: Green 8, Caulker 6, Ferdinand 8, Phillips 8 (Wright-Phillips 6), Barton 8, Fer 8, Yun 6, Isla 7, Kranjcar 7, Henry 6, Zamora 7.
