Sunderland v Chelsea - Echo jury, Tony Potts

Have your say

I WOULD normally be looking forward to an all-too-rare appearance in a cup quarter-final for the Lads but the league position leaves me with little enthusiasm – although naturally, I want to win this.

Poyet is probably on the horns of a dilemma in that he will want to build upon the positives from the West Ham game but knows that the game on Saturday against Norwich is of far greater importance to the future of the club.

Therefore, does he stick with an unchanged side or rest one or two players? I would not be surprised to see Wes Brown make way for Roberge tonight and possibly a start for Johnson and Dossena.

Altidore caused real problems for Chelsea in the recent league game and may well continue up front.

There is little doubt that this competiton is fourth on Mourinho’s ‘wish list’ but he also is motivated by the idea of winning trophies so while he is likely to ring the changes he will also be expecting to win the game.

I think we will run them close again and perhaps we can spring a surprise if things go our way.

Prediction: Sunderland 1 Chelsea 2
