Sunderland Under-23s open their Premier League Cup campaign with a home game against Brighton tonight.

Elliott Dickman’s young charges welcome the Seagulls to Eppleton CW (7pm kick-off) for a Group H tie.

The Wearsiders are also due to meet Hull City and Exeter home and away. They host Exeter on November 2, head to Hull on November 30, visit Brighton on January 19 and Exeter on February 11 before finishing at home to Hull on February 23.

The top two in each group qualify for the last-16 knockout stage.
