As reported by the Echo, Wright is one of Phil Parkinson’s main transfer targets this month having fallen down the pecking order under Lee Johnson and he is due to make a permanent move to Wearside.
And now Bristol Live report Wright – who wasn’t involved at the weekend – is due in the North East to complete his move.

“The Australian international is out of contract this summer and with no talks initiated by the club, his future was decided some time ago with Luton Town among the other teams chasing his signature.”
On Saturday Parkinson insisted Sunderland are ‘closing in’ on new signings and confirmed his interest in Wright.
Parkinson is looking to further strengthen this month following the January capture of Kyle Lafferty.

Parkinson didn’t confirm any names but he did confirm interest in Bristol City skipper Wright, who is thought to be closing in on a permanent move to the Stadium of Light.
When quizzed on Wright, Parkinson told the Echo: “He is one player we have looked at.
“We want to make sure we have the squad as strong as possible.”
