SUNDERLAND Under-21 striker Lynden Gooch has agreed a new deal which will keep him at the club until 2017.
The promising 18-year-old is seen as one for the future by the Black Cats, having already impressed in call-ups for the USA Under-20 side.
This summer, he played a key role for the young international side in their National Training Center Invitational Tournament win
The teenager arrived on Wearside from California in the summer of 2012 and earned himself a two-year scholarship at the Academy of Light after successful trials.
Since then, he has continued to improve and progress.
He was offered a permanent deal to join the Under-18s from the 2012-13 season and last season made more than 25 appearances for the Under-18s before breaking into the Under-21s during the latter stages of the campaign.
He has made four appearances for the Under-21s this season and Sunderland have moved quickly to tie him to the Stadium of Light for the next three years.
