Andre Ayew has been speaking about his future at Swansea City under Francesco Guidolin - despite suggestions linking him with a big-money move to Sunderland.
Ayew’s camp are yet to even hold talks with Swansea over the winger’s future but Sam Allardyce and his former club West Ham United are fans of the 26-year-old.
It comes as Sunderland have been linked with a fresh move for Ayew’s teammate, striker Bafetimbi Gomis.
Guidolin recently signed a two-year contract extension having guided Swansea to Premier League safety.
And former Marseille man Ayew is looking to further improve under his stewardship.
Ayew said: “He has a lot of experience. We’re very lucky to have a coach like that — he has a lot of quality.
“We need to believe in what he wants. From what I’ve seen and the experiences I’ve had — I also have friends in my national team that have been coached by him — I know what he is capable of doing.
“He has quality. He has made a lot of players great Italian players and he can also make me grow as a player,” Ayew told the South Wales Evening Post.
He added: “I’m quite happy with the way we coped with it because it was not an easy season. I’m happy we stayed up.
“Next year we can learn from the bad things and we can have a better season.”
Sunderland made a formal bid for Ayew during the last transfer window, but it was rejected by Swansea who were unwilling to offload their top scorer to one of their relegation rivals.
A winger is one of Allardyce’s summer priorities and Swans top scorer Ayew would certainly fit the bill.
But sources close to Ayew have indicated that it is far too early to even suggest that the Ghanaian international will leave Swansea this summer.
Even if Swansea agree to sell Ayew, there is no guarantee that he will be willing to move to the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland are one of a number of clubs who have been keeping tabs on him.
Allardyce, meanwhile, is understood to be a long-term admirer of Gomis with sources suggesting he could be allowed to leave this summer to free up wages. The 30-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Newcastle United in January.
Despite a promising start, his form dipped alarmingly and he fell out of favour and the Swans could be prepared to cash in.
