Sunderland take ex-Hartlepool United winger on trial

Hamilton, who spent time on loan at Victoria Park earlier this season, will feature for the Black Cats in the Premier League 2 clash against Newcastle United this evening.

The 21-year-old was recently released by parent club Hull City having failed to make a senior appearance for the Tigers.

He featured eight times during his spell with Pools, netting once.

Meanwhile, Reading midfielder Tyler Frost is also set to feature for Elliott Dickman’s side against the Magpies having been handed a start in the defeat to West Ham United last week.

There is no place in the side for Benji Kimpioka, who misses out on the second game in succession, while first-team midfielder Ethan Robson isn’t handed an opportunity - despite having been deprived of game time in recent weeks after returning from a loan spell with Grimsby Town.
