SUNDERLAND striker Daniel Wright featured for England’s U17s as they drew 1-1 against Holland.

The youngster came on for the final 13 minutes of the Three Lions’ second match at the UEFA European U17 Championships, almost snatching a winner with a well-struck 18-yard attempt.

Wright, a regular member of Sunderland’s U18 side, saw his effort saved by Justin Bljlow at the Beroe Stadium, Bulgaria.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah’s own goal gave England the lead at half-time before Reda Boultam’s controversial penalty sealed a point for Oranje.

The stalemate means England need a point from their final Group D game against Republic of Ireland on Wednesday, following an opening win (1-0) over Italy.
