SUNDERLAND have completed their fourth January signing after finalising a deal for Argentine forward Ignacio Scocco.
The 28-year-old, who was at the Stadium of Light last night to watch the 1-0 win over Stoke City, has penned a two-and-a-half year deal at the Stadium of Light after moving for an undisclosed fee - thought to be around £3million - from Brazilian side Internacional.
Scocco becomes the third Argentine international to arrive on Wearside this month after the captures of Santiago Vergini and Oscar Ustari.
Sunderland are still waiting for international clearance to come through for Scocco, who is comfortable either out wide or as a central striker.
But Black Cats boss Gus Poyet is hopeful that Scocco will be available for Saturday’s Tyne-Wear derby.
Scocco is expected to be followed to the Stadium of Light by Brighton midfielder Liam Bridcutt after Sunderland agreed a fee with the Seagulls for their main January target.
Bridcutt is due on Wearside to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms.
