SUNDERLAND skipper John O’Shea has been included in the Republic of Ireland squad for their Euro 2016 qualifier later this month.

Ex-Black Cats boss Martin O’Neill has included O’Shea in a 35-man squad for the crunch qualifier against Poland, at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on Sunday, March 29.

Poland are currently top of Qualification Group D - three points ahead of Germany, Scotland and Ireland, who are all neck-and-neck.

Meanwhile, O’Shea, along with Everton’s Aiden McGeady and Stoke’s Jon Walters, has been shortlisted for the FAI International Player of the Year award.
