Sunderland today enjoyed the ideal warm-up for Tuesday’s big FA Cup quarter-final replay showdown with Everton.

A 3-1 home win over QPR, thanks to goals from Nicklas Bendtner, James McClean and the returning Stephane Sessegnon, gave Martin O’Neill’s men three Premier League points to move back into eighth place – with Everton just behind.
