Sunderland prospect Duncan Watmore is an England football international.

And now his dad has been given a big say in the future of English rugby!

Ian Watmore has been included on the Rugby Football Union’s five-man panel which is to review the England team’s miserable performance at the World Cup.

Watmore senior is a former chief executive of the Football Association.

He has held several government positions such as the secretary for the Department for Innovation, University and Skills and the head of the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit.

He is the only member of the panel not closely associated with rugby union.

The others are veteran coaching guru Sir Ian McGeechan, former England World Cup winner Ben Kay, RFU chief executive Ian Ritchie, and the chairman of the Professional Game Board Ian Metcalfe.
