Two Sunderland youngsters have been called into the Scotland Under-16 squad for this month’s Victory Shield in Northern Ireland.

Goalkeeper Jack Newman and defender Liam Miller are in a 20-strong pool for the annual tournament, with the Scots – managed by ex-Dundee and Ayr United striker James Grady – up against the hosts, Wales and the Republic of Ireland, with England again opting out of the competition.

The games will be played at Crusaders’ Seaview Stadium, in Belfast, and the Bangor Fuels Arena, in Bangor, from October 22-27.
