FORMER Sunderland loan star Ki Sung-Yueng enjoyed grabbing a rare headed goal as Swansea City came from behind to secure a 1-1 Premier League draw against the Black Cats on Saturday.

The South Korean international marked his return from Asian Cup duty to dive to nod home a Kyle Naughton centre, having earlier had a close-range effort ruled out for offside.

“I was desperate to come back to Swansea after the end of the competition,” said Ki, who helped Sunderland reach the Capital One Cup final during his season-long loan on Wearside last term.

“I’m a little tired, but I didn’t want to show anyone that as I was determined to give everything I could and help this team climb the table.

“I don’t score many headers, but I managed to get forward more (on Saturday) and that allowed me to be in the right positions to get a goal.”

He added on swanseacity.net: “It was a very good cross from Kyle and it was great goal for me to score.

“I was a little disappointed we didn’t get three points as we were in control and created a lot of chances.”
