SEB Larsson believes that new signing Jermain Defoe has added a new dimension to the Sunderland attack.
The presence of the England international boosted the Black Cats’ attacking options in yesterday’s Premier League game at Tottenham, despite having just three training sessions on the training ground with his new team-mates last week.
Larsson, impressed by the former Tottenham and Portsmouth frontman’s debut display, had no doubt that the 32-year-old was felled in the penalty area seconds after Spurs’ third minute opener.
“You can see what an intelligent player he is,” added Larsson.
“He was playing on the lines and was willing to go in behind, which we’ve been lacking.
“He’ll do really well for us.
“I think it was an absolute stonewall penalty.”
