SUNDERLAND midfielder Liam Noble will stay at Carlisle United until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old was due back from Brunton Park on February 10, but will stay on after impressing boss Greg Abbott.

Noble made his first appearance after replacing ex-Sunderland playmaker Paul Thirlwell as a substitute in Carlisle’s 4-0 league win over Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

He then played 90 minutes in Carlisle’s impressive win over high-flying Huddersfield in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Northern Area final first leg on Tuesday.
