Sunderland want former Newcastle United full-back Davide Santon in a £1.5million deal, according to reports in Italy.
Black Cats boss Sam Allardyce is eager to bring in a new right-back this summer after the departure of last season's loanee DeAndre Yedlin.
Santon - now at Inter Milan - predominantly operated at left-back during his three years at Newcastle, but is comfortable on the opposite side.
Speculation in Italy has suggested that Sunderland are in advanced talks with Inter for Santon, who was limited to a bit-part role with the Serie A outfit last season.
It would mark the end of Santon's second spell at Inter after he moved to Newcastle for more than £5m in 2011, before returning to his boyhood club.
