CRAIG Gordon hopes he will begin to see progress in his injury rehabilitation by the time he heads away on international duty next week.
The Scotland goalkeeper is expected to stay on the bench for Sunderland’s Stadium of Light clash with Liverpool tomorrow as he continues his recovery from a knee tendon problem.
Gordon is available to play in an emergency but his mobility remains hampered and he has spent the past 10 days following an exercise regime in the gym in a bid to avoid going under the knife.
The 28-year-old participated in training yesterday, though, and will put himself through the warm-up tomorrow.
If Gordon comes through unscathed, the £9million stopper believes he will be on the mend by the time he joins the Scotland squad for a five-day training camp in La Manga next week.
