Sunderland’s international contingent are due to report back for pre-season training tomorrow.

John O’Shea, Seb Larsson, Steven Fletcher and Duncan Watmore were all given extra time off during the summer after representing their respective countries last month.

But they will return to the Academy of Light tomorrow to begin their pre-season schedules, ahead of the Sunderland squad flying out to North America at the weekend for their three friendlies in California and Toronto.

New signing Sebastian Coates, whose loan deal was converted into a £2million permanent switch last week, has been given an extra couple of days after his involvement with the Uruguay squad at the Copa America.

But Coates is also expected to among the party heading across the Atlantic.
