Sunderland handed fresh injury concern as Callum McFadzean forced off in MK Dons tie
Sunderland have been handed a fresh injury concern – after Callum McFadzean was forced off against MK Dons.
McFadzean was withdrawn after 26 minutes having previously received treatment, after going down clutching his groin.
His exit came after Sunderland went 1-0 up in the quarter final thanks to a Dean Lewington own goal after a quick counter-attack.
The Black Cats are already short of options on the left-side of the back four, with Denver Hume having recently suffered an injury setback.
Jake Vokins recently signed on loan from Southampton, but missed out on the Papa John’s Trophy tie at stadium:mk having already played in the competition for Southampton this season.
That mean Luke O’Nien was asked to deputise at left-back following McFadzean was made to exit the action.
