SUNDERLAND fans showed their disgust at today’s first-half performance against Aston Villa, with some supporters having to be restrained from getting at the home dugout.

Three fans tried to get past stewards to have a go at manager Gus Poyet, as Sunderland slumped four goals behind at the Stadium of Light - against a side who had scored only four goals away from home all season.

The anger was already in the air when Christian Benteke opened the scoring, but his second goal, making it 4-0 just before the break, had masses of fans in the 45,000-plus crowd heading for the exits.

Sunderland will go below Aston Villa in the table if the Midlands side see out the victory.
