SUNDERLAND’S Under-21s face a belated opening home game of the campaign tonight when Manchester United visit Eppleton CW (kick-off 7pm).

The Black Cats have seen two home encounters called off so far this season after August’s scheduled clash with Watford was cancelled when the Hornets pulled out of the league and then last week’s visit of Aston Villa fell victim to the weather.

But Kevin Ball’s men will look to register their first victory of the season tonight after taking two points from their opening three games.

United beat Newcastle 4-2 on Friday, with Federico Macheda netting twice.
