But the Uruguayan is now not thought to be a leading contender – with ex-Lincoln City and Huddersfield Town boss Danny Cowley now leading the way in the betting.

Hide AdAnd with social media awash with rumours over who will succeed Parkinson, Wright says the playing squad won’t be shying away from looking at the names in the frame.
Indeed, the Australian has backed the club’s board to make the right call when it comes to selecting the next manager – and says the new incumbent will be inheriting a ‘hard-working and honest’ set of players, whose eyes are still set on promotion.
"You don't ignore it, of course you don't,” said Wright of the speculation.
"At the end of the day you're going to have a new boss who comes in and like everyone you're curious to see what decisions are made.
