This was the culmination of a tough few months, and a moment that could not have fallen to someone more deserving.

"It was a crucial goal, and with Grant we know the hard time he's been through and how hard he's worked through it,” said defender Tom Flanagan.

“He's come back and he hasn't wanted a sob story, he hasn't wanted an arm around him - he's come back, done his work, worked hard and got himself in the team and he deserves to get the plaudits and get the goal. That was more what the celebration was.

“All the goals are big goals, but it was great for Grant to score and that's what the majority of the boys were thinking about.”
