Reid left his role last week.

“We’ve got a new club secretary, Ray Murphy, who has been with us for a few weeks,” Sunderland CEO Jim Rodwell said.

“He’s come in from Swindon.

“I’ve yet to meet him – other than a thousand Zoom calls! – but he has been cracking on with what needs to be done.

“Brett Baker has gone to Brighton but before he left there was a considerable handover period.”
