Sunderland are reportedly close to a deal for Spurs winger Andros Townsend.
The 24-year-old is out of favour at White Hart Lane and looking to revive his career which took him into the England side at one stage.
He is not in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans at Tottenham and has been frozen out of first-team contention after a row with a fitness coach.
West Brom, Watford and Newcastle have all been linked with the wide man, but national media is claiming Sunderland have won the battle after offering Townsend more than the £40,000 a week he is on now.
Speculation has suggested Spurs would want as much as £14m for Townsend.
