Sunderland's on-loan Tottenham Hotspur defender DeAndre Yedlin has been nominated for a top award.
The pacy right-back, who joined the Black Cats on loan in the summer, has been nominated for the 2015 US Soccer Male Player of the Year.
Yedlin is one of five nominees for the highly-coveted award, with Seattle Sounders’ forward and former Fulham striker Clint Dempsey also among the nominees.
Dempsey is seeking his record-tying fourth Player of the Year Award after previously winning in 2007, 2011 and 2012.
Landon Donovan, meanwhile, holds the record for most Male Player of the Year awards with four honours (2003, 2004, 2009 and 2010).
Yedlin, who only made his USMNT debut with the team last year, is up for the award for the first time in his career.
The other nominees are Michael Bradley, Brad Guzan and Fabian Johnson and the winner will be announced on 18 December.
Yedlin has been a regular under Sam Allardyce, with the Sunderland boss favouring playing wing backs.
