Sunderland AFC transfer news RECAP: Message sent over Rangers winger Jordan Jones as Portsmouth win boosts promotion hopes

Sunderland saw their promotion hopes boosted by a big win at Portsmouth last night – as they ended a Fratton Park hoodoo spanning over 20 years.

It was 1997 when the Black Cats last won at Pompey, but they put an end to that particular record as Charlie Wyke and Jordan Jones sealed a 2-0 win.

And with that game out the way, focus now turns to this weekend’s Papa John’s Trophy final against Tranmere at Wembley.
