It was 1997 when the Black Cats last won at Pompey, but they put an end to that particular record as Charlie Wyke and Jordan Jones sealed a 2-0 win.
And with that game out the way, focus now turns to this weekend’s Papa John’s Trophy final against Tranmere at Wembley.
