The one negative following Sunderland's 1-0 win at Oxford was the ankle injury sustained by Bailey Wright

Black Cats boss Phil Parkinson said after the match: "It doesn't look good, that's all I can say at the moment as it is early, it looks quite a bad injury. Alim (Ozturk) came on and did well.

"It's his ankle ligaments."

More praise for Alim Ozturk

Alim Ozturk came off the bench against Oxford on Saturday.

Alim Ozturk replaced Wright in the 84th minute and could become a key player for the Black Cats in the next few weeks.

Midfielder Max Power praised Ozturk after the game, saying: “Special praise for Alim, coming on at 1-0 and it's backs-to-the-wall at such a late stage in the game

“It would have been really easy for Alim to have sulked of late and it's credit to him, he's been a model professional.

“Bailey has come into the team and done great, we've kept clean sheets, but Alim's come on and helped us see the game through."
