Sunderland striker Joel Asoro has completed his move to Championship side Swansea City.

The Black Cats accepted a £2m offer for the Swedish striker earlier this week and, with personal terms now agreed, the deal has been finalised.

Asoro, 19, had indicated his desire to leave the Stadium of Light following the club's relegation to League One.

He has now penned a four-year deal at the Liberty Stadium, bringing an end to his three-year stay at the Stadium of Light.

Having joined from Swedish side IF Brommapojkarna, Asoro made his professional debut in 2016 before going on to become a regular in the latter half of last season.

The striker departs Wearside having made 35 appearances for the club, netting three times.

A club statement said: "Sunderland AFC would like to wish Joel the best of luck as he embarks on the next stage of his football career."

Speaking about the deal earlier this week on Twitter, Sunderland owner Stewart Donald added: "I think quite a few will think we could get more for Joel if he goes and some will be in the other camp and think it makes sense. It’s football!!

"If he leaves - Thought I had done quite well with base price. He is a League 1 player with 1 year left. Played half a season. Has potential but so do all young players."

Donald also confirmed that the club have included a sell-on clause in the deal which would see Sunderland benefit in the future.
