It has been another busy day on the transfer front at the Stadium of Light - with news on outgoings and potential incomings.

Black Cats boss Sam Allardyce has been meeting the press this morning ahead of the home game with Manchester City next Tuesday night.

And Allardyce has revealed he is hopeful of signing at least one more player before the 11pm transfer window deadline on Monday.

But the club's on-off pursuit of Swansea City forward Andre Ayew looks to be over.

Allardyce said: "I think certainly one more will be achieved before Monday.

"Any more than that will be dependent on the negotiations."

Meanwhile, defender Sebastian Coates has completed his loan move to Sporting Lisbon ahead of a permanent transfer in the summer.

The Uruguayan international has undergone a medical and discuss personal terms with Sporting today, before completing a move which could see Sunderland recoup more than £3m if he is sold next summer.

Coates' exit has allowed Sunderland to finally complete the signing of Ivory Coast international Lamine Kone at the third time of asking.

And finally, Allardyce has been speaking about the result of the 'secret derby' game against Newcastle United at the Stadium of Light.

A Duncan Watmore-inspired Black Cats thrashed Newcastle 6-0!

Allardyce said: "The result was nothing. If we had lost 6-0, it wouldn't have mattered to me whatsoever.

"All that mattered was how the players played and got through 90 minutes of a quality, high-tempo game at the Stadium of Light."
