Fans set to return
Let’s start with yesterday’s big news.
Sunderland AFC have confirmed plans to welcome up to 10,000 fans back to the Stadium of Light for the play-off semi-final with Lincoln City.
Tickets will be sold in phases, with the first seats available to be snapped up from 10am on Wednesday, May 12.
2020/21 season ticket holders will have first priority on tickets and will be able to purchase their seats up until 4pm on Thursday, May 13.
Should any tickets remain available, 2021/22 season ticket holders will then be able to buy tickets from 10am on Friday, May 14.
Fans will be allocated seats on a first come, first served basis with no tickets available to purchase at the club’s ticket office or over the phone – all sales must be completed via the club’s online ticketing site.
Tickets will be priced at £20 for adults and £10 for under-16s and over-65s after discussions with supporter working groups.

How fans reacted to yesterday’s announcement
Many supporters feel the ticketing system put in place by Sunderland is the fairest way possible – even if it means they won’t be able to attend.
Lincoln have also announced that 3,145 home fans will be able to attend the first leg of their play-off meeting with Sunderland at Sincil Bank.
The first leg will take place on Wednesday 19th May 2021 (6pm KO) and a ticketing ballot is available for 2020/21 season ticket holders.
Promotion could cost Sunderland £300,000 - according to reports
Sunderland could have to fork out £300,000 if they win the League One play-offs – according to reports.
The Black Cats are set to take on Lincoln City in the play-off semi finals next week, with the winners then set to face either Blackpool or Oxford United at Wembley with a place in the Championship on the line.
But should Sunderland go all the way in the play-offs, then it could come at a financial cost.
Wigan Today claim that the Wearsiders will have to pay Wigan Athletic £300,000 if they gain promotion this season – as part of the deals that took Max Power and Will Grigg to the Stadium of Light.

I believe in this team and the lads believe in themselves and that’s the main thing.
