Sunderland's pursuit of French left-back Arthur Masuaku is making the headlines today.
Sam Allardyce is desperate for January reinforcements, with the Black Cats competing with Italian giants Inter Milan, Juventus and Roma for his signature.
Olympiakos full-back Masuaku is one name on Sunderland’s shortlist after Black Cats scouts watched the 22-year-old in action during the Greek club’s Champions League win over Dynamo Zagreb last week.
Meanwhile, Leeds United are still hopeful of signing Liam Bridcutt from Sunderland on a two-month loan deal.
The midfielder is not in Allardyce's Sunderland plans.
“I spoke to Liam on Friday night and the conversation went extremely well,” said Leeds boss Steve Evans.

And finally, striker Fabio Borini has revealed why he believes the two-week international break is a crucial period for the Black Cats.
“It is the manager’s job to find the best way to play but he has just come in and needs time to know all the players but we don’t have much time to see everyone, I think that is the difficulty," Borini told the Echo.
