Sunderland went behind early on to McKay’s smart finish and it looked like it was going to be a long evening for the Black Cats until Power popped up in the closing seconds of the game to snatch a point.

Same again for Sunderland!

And Fleetwood Town are unchanged too

Why change a winning team, eh?

Sunderland name the same XI and bench as they did for the win over Bristol Rovers at the weekend. No real surprise there. Declan John will have to remain patient. Wyke gets the nod again after his goal.

Here we go then. Players are out here at the Stadium of Light

It's a cold night but it's certainly been colder in recent weeks. KO is less than five minutes away. Sunderland and Fleetwood both unchanged.

Tonight's referee is Scott Oldham, the last three Sunderland games he has taken charge of have all ended 1-1.

Fleetwood with the first chance of the night, Madden played in McKay, McLaughlin out quickly to close him down. Big save.

Up the other end, Flanagan heads over from a Maguire free-kick.

GOAL! Sunderland behind to McKay goal 5 minutes in

Sunderland, who looked nervy early on, are behind. McKay with a smart finish past McLaughlin. Madden flicked the ball round, McKay took the ball round Ozturk and slotted home.

Joey Barton enjoyed that one...

The Fleetwood Town boss stood at the edge of his technical area and just nodded for quite a while at the Sunderland fans in the stands.

BOOKED: Max Power in the 13th minute for a late foul

15' Fleetwood keeper Alex Cairns time-wasting at every opportunity

He started as soon as Fleetwood took the lead. Could be a long old night this one...how have Sunderland reacted to going behind?

They are trying to play their usual game, Maguire keen to get on the ball. Fleetwood will be delighted with their start however.
